| Tiivistelmä: | A wide variety of issues related to drug screening in the workplace are examined to assess its utility. Amongst the major reasons for screening the goal of increasing safety in the workplace was considered the most justifiable. Numerous drawbacks are identified, including the complicated legal aspects of screening, the lack of scientific knowledge about ethical issues that arise. It is concluded that for most applications of screening in the workplace the possible strengths of programmes are outweighed by their weaknesses. |
