| Tiivistelmä: | The complementarity relationship of economic and environmental risks is empirically demonstrated by using an emissions-to-jobs ratio (E/J). The ratio is derived from EPA's Toxic Release Inventory and Census Bureau employment data. Relationships among economic indicators, environmental indicators, energy use indicators and E/J ratio are found to be significant. Economic indicators include disposable income, unemployment rate and poverty level, while environmental indicators are Green's Total Index and Policy and Conditions Index. |
