| Tiivistelmä: | The recent enforcement records of international competition policy authorities show a marked increase in antitrust investigations on charges of abuse of market power and restraints to competition. The list of affected companies include household names like TetraPak, Eastman Kodak, Microsoft, Sony , and Toshiba. What initially appeared to be merely a periodic upsurge in regulatory interest, instead reflects a global trend towards more comprehensive and stringent competition controls. At the same time, however, declining demand , internationalizing competition, and rapid and increasingly complex technological change have prompted numerous companies to strenghten their competitive position and to re-organize their operations. |
