| Tiivistelmä: | The purpose of this paper is to develop a stochastic model of the pull production system which considers uncertainty in production times as well as fluctuations in final demand. The analysis models the pull mechanism accurately, by allowing production stations to produce only in response to the demand's pulling force at the downstream station. The developed model is used to study and analyse the pull production system, its characteristics and the impact of the system parameters on its performance. The various allocation patterns of kanban capacity and mean production time over the system stations are studied. |
