Tiivistelmä:This study attempts to empirically validate/invalidate a model of multipoint competition proposed by Karnani and Wernerfelt (1985). The model describes interactions between firms which compete in multipoint markets, whereas the same firms compete with one another in various arenas. Compared to single market competition, the array of potential strategies in the diverse markets is more complex. The theoretical model appears to be very relevant to strategic management, but this study is the first to empirically investigate its predictive validity.
