| Tiivistelmä: | An essential element of economic reform in post-communist states is to create efficient capital markets. In developed capitalist orders, such markets are "at the centre of the "brain" of the entire economic system". This article seeks to analyze what factors determined which enterprises in a given sector received state-subsided credits in Russia in 1993. Why could some enterprises borrow at subsidised rates and others not? The article presents one case study of financial allocation in a sector undergoing rapid reform. |
