| Tiivistelmä: | This study offers the first large sample investigation of the factors which affect the choice of foreign ownership structure by Japanese MNCs in 36 countries from 1969 to 1991. The study finds that parent's familiarity with host country, the parent's R&D intensity , and the cultural distance between home and host country have positive influence on the Japanese firms' choice of full ownership structure for their foreign affiliates, whereas the restrictiveness of host country has a negative influence on their choice of full ownership. |
