Tiivistelmä:Outplacement does not have to be the preserve of external suppliers. The author describes the experiences of a number of organisations that set up their own centres for counselling redundant employees. Several employers have demonstrated ownership of redundancy counselling in recent years by setting up their own support centres. But when outplacement is brought in from the cold, does it work as well as an external service? Most outplacement agencies would argue that internal centres cannot provide sufficient expertise, and that senior employees are reluctant to use such a service.
