Tiivistelmä:The Internet future over Intel's flawed Pentium chip provides an important case study of the ethical ambiguity of Internet communications and the legitimacy of certain forms of "electronic activism". The media is typically an unloved but compelling force in business ethics and corporate social responsibility. The most recent media show-trial was the controversy over Intel Corp.'s flawed Pentium chip. Faced with a storm of consumer protest about a bug in the chip and the company's failure to disclose it, Intel was forced into a humiliating reversal of policy, agreeing to replace all the defective chips on request and writing off half a billion dollars in the process.
