| Tiivistelmä: | With the successive return of Hong Kong and Macao to the mainland China. Taiwan will not isolate itself from the large-environment of regional and sub-regional economic cooperation. The Ninth Five-Year Plan and a vision of 2010 of the Mainland provide good opportunity for deepened cooperation. Industrial upgrading of Taiwan and the Asia- Pacific Operation Center Plan needs to improve the comprehensive competitiveness with the mainland China as the base. Drastic reduction of import tariffs in the mainland China, more than 4000 kinds of goods imported from the Mainland and readjustment of Taiwan's policies of investment in the Mainland will be conducive to economic and trade cooperation between the two sides. |
