| Tiivistelmä: | There are many who think that manufacturing is a second rate business. They believe we should simply sit on our hands and let less technologically able countries supply the labour for our manufacturing operations. Because we are now in the information age, they believe , the manufacturing age has come and gone. Is it time to turn out the lights in our manufacturing plants? No, because manufacturing is too valuable to abandon. There is not merit in believing we are doomed to send manufacturing jobs overseas. Industrial engineers must take the steps necessary to ensure a future for manufacturing. |
