Tiivistelmä: | Mistakes are troublesome things. We don't like making them, we don't like talking about them and we hate it when they are discovered by other people. Whenever we can, we try to conceal our errors or reason them away. Those who have power over us often deal with our mistakes punitively. Not surprisingly, therefore, we learn to fear making mistakes and prefer to stick to tried and tested methods rather than experiment with the new. Some organisations become so intolerant that the fabled blame culture develops: conformity is rewarded, while innovation and experimentation are stifled. |
