| Tiivistelmä: | During 1995 and the first half of 1996, the growth of foreign investment in transition economies (TEs) accelerated. At current yearly average exchange rates , FDI stock in the former European CMEA countries and European CIS member States increased by 61% in 1995 as compared with 35% in 1994. The FDI stock increment grew from USD 6.2 bln in 1994 to USD 14.7 billion in 1995, that is more than doubled. The total FDI volume in the above-mentioned countries increased from USD 17.8 billion at the beginning of 1994 to USD 24.0 billion one year after and to USD 38.7 billion at the start of 1996. |
