| Tiivistelmä: | The 29 member countries of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) have undertaken to join the US this year in criminalising the bribery of foreign officials. Under the terms of the US's Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), which was enacted in 1977, US businesses are liable to force prosecution in their own country if they bribe foreign officials to secure commercial contracts. By contrast, many other leading western nations have turned a blind eye to corruption abroad. |
