Tiivistelmä: | International strategy empirical research on the mode of entry has overlooked the multilevel (here as: m-l.) nature of this question, relying on non-m-l. quantitative methods. This creates important conceptual and statistical limitations. This paper examines such drawbacks by explaining the m-l. nature of this research question and the necessity to use m-l. methods. A m-l. model is developed and a multilevel Bernoulli analysis is run to analyze the determinants of modes of entry, using a dataset on Japanese Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Its results are compared to those of the dominant statistical method used in international management for this topic, that's logistic regression. |
