| Tiivistelmä: | Local-service sectors have received little attention in the extensive literature on competitive interactions, although it is economically very important. It is hard to gather detailed data in these sectors, because there are so many players and the key service dimensions are hard quantify. This paper uses the the case of video-rental markets. Additional entries of video stores are found to significantly increase the level of competition. Several control variable included in the model to offer additional insights. |
