| Tiivistelmä: | In this study the authors examine the union structure and pension outcomes in Greece. The authors particularly focus in the competing role of narrow versus encompassing interests, in order to analyse union policy on pensions in the perspective of membership composition. The findings indicate that there is a major unfairness in terms of gender, age/cohort, ethnic origin and particularly in social insurance affilation and sector of the economy. The authors conclude their findings by stating that when legitimate interests are represented flawed, negotiated reform will tend to reproduce the in egalitarian tendencies concealed in Bismarckian pension systems. |
