| Tiivistelmä: | This article concentrates on the growing importance of chairman's role. The tightened corporate governance legislation gives even more responsibility to chairman. However, the role of chairman has not received much academic attention. In addition, the article views chairman as a leader of the board and thus responsible of all the actions taken by the firm. The role of the CEO is considered as being in the driving seat. However, when a new direction is needed, chairman takes the responsibility. |
