| Tiivistelmä: | This paper focuses on knowledge transfer in research and development (hereafter as: R&D) relationships. A case study of technological trajectory with three interfirm R&D relationships is used as a data source. A model illustrating initiation and evolution of interfirm knowledge transfer is created. The model emphasizes the role of long-term relationship expectations and similarity of technological equipment. Finally, the quality of perceived market threats affects significantly the decisions concerning interfirm knowledge transfer. |
