| Tiivistelmä: | The paper provides generalized useful suggestion how to combine geographical information system and fuzzy multicriteria decision making for improving waste management. The particular case analyzed in this study concentrated on the selection of suitable places for solid waste in a fast-growing urban region in the USA. The method takes into account environmental, biophysical, ecological and socioeconomic factors and can help in recognizing the pros and cons of the potential areas for landfill sites. |
