| Tiivistelmä: | The present capabilities of computers are considered and the impact the Artificial Intelligence community has had on the practice of Operational Research. The potential success of current research is also examined and some of the obstacles to development are listed. The evidence suggests that although Artificial Intelligence will provide significant support to the work of Operational Research researchers,the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the Operational Research community will not be as great as the claims suggest. Artificial Intelligence will continue to support Operational Research practice without displacing it. |
