| Tiivistelmä: | There is a tendency to anthropomorphize the group and forget that it is our intervention and not a real feature of industrial life. Mobility barriers are asymmetrical, this fact enables large firms to overwhelm smaller companies within their niches at low cost. A stable market can become a trap. Xerox lost its monopoly this way against Japanese Sevin's low-service strategy. A contestable market allows free entry and exit, but it is just a notion. Multivariate group analysis provides a context of contestable market theory to strategic management. |
