| Tiivistelmä: | A new and very successful application of mathematical programming is described in petroleum industry. Specifically, the design and implementation of a model and computer system is proposed to address the complex short-term planning and operational issues associated with the supply, distribution, and marketing of refined petroleum products. The system has been successfully implemented at Citgo Petroleum Corporation. Significant reduction in working capital costs and additional contributions to bottom line profits have been achieved. |
