| Tiivistelmä: | University-industry cooperative research tends to play an increasingly important role in research and development. Seven case studies suggest guidelines for negotiating and implementing successful agreements between universities and industry. Project formulation before contracting could lessen the chance of unexpected or unmanageable difficulties occurring once the project begins. Successful project execution requires an effective project management mechanism and the advantage of geographical proximity. Key conclusions are drawn on the project accomplishments. Guidelines for future research are formulated. Parties should seek open communications, mutual dedication and willingness to compromise. |
