| Tiivistelmä: | Based on analyses of manufacturing costs for selected countries, the cost advantages of foreign manufacturing locations compared to the Federal Republic of Germany are quantified. The analysis makes evident that increased efforts are needed in order to maintain the competitiveness of the Federal Republic of Germany as manufacturing location. This particularly contains the improvement of productivity as well as the relocation of the production capacity for wage-intensive products. The enterprises must be competitive but the criteria and aspects of the competitors are to be considered. |
