| Tiivistelmä: | EDI (electronic data interchange) is set to revolutionize office efficiency as never before. Cost savings are one obvious gain from EDI. As computer talks to computer, fewer personnel are necessary and transmission times are improved. Considering that computers speak to each other faster than people, on-line costs are saved. Most companies prefer a pre-existing network rather than building one of their own. The simplest solution is just to subscribe to an existing system and plug the appliance in. But with more networks coming on the market, different industry standards mean that systems are incompatible. |
