Tiivistelmä: | The merits of integrated material requirements planning/distribution resource planning /MRP/DRP/ systems are evident, but the role marketeers should play in it remains a question. Both the roles of demand management and of marketeers are discussed. Managers must be conscious of product allocation decisions during operations. DRP is very useful to marketeers because it focuses on the status of deliveries. Examples show how a focus on DRP improves realism and efficiency in executing marketing desires. The linkage between manufacturing managers and marketing managers is seen to be a key factor for integrating marketing and manufacturing. |
