Tiivistelmä:The study described investigated the efficacy of performance appraisal in organizational settings by considering not just the context of reviews but also the typically overlooked interpersonal context within which performance appraisals occur. A longitudinal design was adopted in order to study whether performance appraisal reviews result in actual changes in employee performance and job satisfaction. Even after statistically controlling for the favorableness of performance evaluations, it was found that subordinate reactions to review were affected by interpersonal relations.
