Tiivistelmä:Hong Kong's economic miracle is the product of its six million residents' brave entrepreneurial visions. Per capita income is higher than Japan's and Britain's. Total domestic product was USD 63 billion in 1989. Hong Kong and China have become economic Siamese twins. Yet Hong Kong now feels like the goose who will be throttled for laying golden eggs. The colony will be handed back to China in 1997. The result has been an enormous exodus from the colony, more than 60,000 of the best and brightest last year. Where there is no democracy, people vote with their feet, and without entrepreneurs, the world's most impressive skyline may become an empty shell.
