| Tiivistelmä: | The Eurobond market's decline has been dramatic. Optimists still believe that the sickness is not terminal, only temporary. But pessimists are afraid of a lethal sickness. Regardless of opinion, it is evident that drastic decisions have to be taken if the market is to be restored. In the years 1983-86 the Euromarket had grown so rapidly that it burst it own seams. Banks were full of money they could not lend to less developed countries, so it was pumped into swaps, the Euromarket and expensive equipment. Now the bubble is over. |
