Tiivistelmä:This article focuses on how companies benchmark their HR practices against other successful companies. The authors share the experiences and approaches used by their companies to answer the following questions: what is benchmarked , and where, how, and why is benchmarking done? The two companies, Digital Equipment and United Technologies, offer different approaches to the uses, process, and outcomes of HR benchmarking. An academic overview of a more empirical approach is also included.
