Tiivistelmä:Participative mechanisms are not presented as panaceas but as a means of increasing worker satisfaction and productivity as well as changing organizational culture. The parameters of participation programs are discussed individually. The rationales for participation are classified as human relations, human resource, and democratic rationales. Influence of rationale on participation structure is treated. The nature of the participation program is described. Some learnings and conclusions as well as challenges and perspectives for the future are given.
