| Tiivistelmä: | That Japanese multinational companies need a reorientation of their organizational structures and management processes is argued for. Suggestion is made to redefine the basic role and responsibilities of their foreign operations and to restructure the relationship with the parent company. A three-stage program of development of the national organization is recommended: resources should be transferred; local knowledge, skills, and expertise must be developed; responsibilities can be expanded. |
