| Tiivistelmä: | Based on a case study of Digital Equipment Corporation, issues raised by the stabilization of employment are examined. Restructuring and reducing employment without lay-offs are considered a specific case. The key choices underlying the procedures and providing data on the consequences for individuals and the firm are described. The implications of the Digital experience for the human resource principles and actions which must underlie the stabilization of employment are explored. |
