| Tiivistelmä: | After the boom had become very moderate in Italy in 1990, the growth of production and consumption increased only slightly in 1991. The growth of the GDP in 1991 was 1 p.c., half as high as one year before; and industrial production decreased 2 p.c. The impacts of the economic downturn on unemployment were counterbalanced by labout market measures. Unemployment rate is now 11 p.c. Price increase in 1991 was 6.4 p.c; the same as in the two previous years. The economic situation of Italy is a cause for concern especially from the point of view of the stability requirements of the European Single Market. |
