| Tiivistelmä: | This article first discusses how rapid rail emerged on the EU's political agenda for the CTP. Second, it evaluates separate problem areas (political, social and financial, economic and technical) which hinder HST system development. It then discusses the feasibility of actually developing a Union-wide HST network. Finally, it examines whether a fully operational HST system, if and when completed will, in fact, promote European integration. |
