| Tiivistelmä: | As Shanghai's industry is developed towards high-tech and high output value, the adjustment of its textiles industry is found essential and imperative. From 1989 to 1994, the textile workers' number has been reduced from 551,600 to 403,000 in Shanghai; during the five years from 1995 to 1999, 20,000-30,000 people will be averagely reduced per year. In 1994, the Shanghai textile industry's re-employment project achieved remarkable fruit: over 5,000 people were absorbed, which account for 12% in the total number of people-diversion through the tertiary industry developed by the enterprises and the training for posts transferring; 15,500 people which make up 40% were transformed to the other industries; 38% of the people went through the retirement procedure. |
