| Tiivistelmä: | A report is presented looking at tourism within Norway as well as looking at the Norwegians as tourists abroad. Tourism's role in the economy is examined. Data are published about the balance of tourist receipts and expenditure abroad. Employment in tourism is analysed. Capacity for tourist accomodation is estimated. Tourist nights are examined by country source. Seasonal trends are highlighted. Arrivals occur mainly in the high summer months. The European destinations of Scandinavian holiday makers are described. The most important is Italy. A short future outlook is summarized. A continuing rise is expected in international travel and tourism by the Norwegians. |
