| Tiivistelmä: | Computer-aided design and manufacturing /CAD/CAM/ systems as an aid to competitiveness are assessed. A research into the implementation of CAD/CAM is described. More than two hundred managers and operating-level employees were interviewed or surveyed. Three types of barriers to successful adoption were identified: structural, human and technical /lack of coordination and cooperation, uncertainty avoidance resistance etc/. Failure in anticipating costs and perceiving true benefits is examined. The ways of how best to address each of them are discussed. |
