Tiivistelmä:Only 50% of takeovers, mergers, and acquisitions completed in the United States actually succeed. One of the main reasons for this high failure rate is that legal and financial considerations receive precedence over human and cultural aspects of such operations. Takeovers, mergers and acquisitions of companies must also encourage reflection over the most effective ways of human resources management. The human implications of takeovers and other forms of mergers and acquisitions are analyzed in communicational, informational as well as cultural terms. It is then shown how attention to such factors, even before the completion of the operation, can provide one of the keys to its success.
