Tiivistelmä:In this study the authors re-examine the argument that career outocmes are determined mainly by chance events of which people have no control. In addition the influence of weak paradigms on the reliability of evaluations at the career level of analysis is examined. The authors focus on studuying these factors on professionals working in the organization sciences. The authors use the Spearman-Brown Prophecy formula in their study to show that reliability of evaluations at the career level is in a high level, even in the event of very pessimistic assumptions concerning inter-rater agreement at the manuscript/journal level.
