| Tiivistelmä: | Japan began to make loans and direct investment to China in 1979. Until 1995, Japanese government has provided loans in 1574 billion yen (about US dollar 11 billion) in 3 separate batches. After 1988, the grow rate of its direct investment in China was accelerated apparently. The total direct investment projects reached 8610 by the end of June in 1994 with a contracted investment of US dollar 10.795 billion and an actual investment of US dollar 5.91 billion. However, compared with some West European countries, Japan's technological level in its investment projects is not advanced and the general investment structure is not reasonable enough either. |
