| Tiivistelmä: | The technology of harnessing the power of the sun and its potential for mankind is described. It is concluded that solar energy options exist for both the developed and for developing countries, although the form of technology employed most widely may vary greatly from country to country. One of the attractive aspects of solar energy utilization is the creation of jobs. In developing countries the labour intensive nature of the solar plant can lead to job creation for the mass of unemployed labour; in developed nations new service industries can be created from an active solar programme. |
