Tiivistelmä:The articles, seminars, and pamphlets on AIDS in the workplace don't begin to address the real problems that face the real managers in real companies. The lessons from two cases evolving over a period of four years are described and analyzed. To begin with, there is a critical distinction to be made between employees who are HIV-positive and those who have developed active AIDS. HIV-positive employees are fully capable of providing normal, productive work. The real challenge for managers is dealing with employees in the advanced stages of AIDS. Several difficult aspects of AIDS for a manager are discussed. Some of the most important conflincting issues are highlighted and suggestions on how to deal with them are made.
