| Tiivistelmä: | The major advantage of foreign direct investment (FDI) for transnational companies is that it provides an opportunity to exercise a controlling interest in the use to which foreign investment is put to be directly and actively involved in the management of a foreign affiliate, rather than merely provide capital. Firms seeking to expand internationally often choose to retain ownership control of their operations, even when there are significant costs in doing so. |
