| Tiivistelmä: | Just-in-time distribution is dealt with as a feasible alternative to traditional distribution. After the review of the literature on just-in-time production and related concepts,the first model is formed,that of a factory-warehouse -retailer distribution system.The second model dealt with requires no warehouses, stock is moved directly to retailers. The measures of performance of the models are described and simulated by computer. Transportation aspects are examined both on the in- and outbound side. Problems of implementation and suggestions for further research are contained in the conclusions.Significant improvements are demonstrated with the models. |
