Tiivistelmä: | Because managers work in the real world, one widely cited theory of motivation - the Expectancy Theory - should help many of them to understand what motivates their subordinates. However, managers must understand the theory and learn how to translate it into a practical tool that increases productivity. The theory basically states that an individual has the highest motivation to put forth the greatest effort if he or she believes the effort will lead to good performance, and the good performance will lead to preferred outcomes. If the answer to any of the three questions is negative or reflects some doubt, the individual will be less motivated. |
