| Tiivistelmä: | Linder's first thesis is that income similarity between two countries increases the intensity of their bilateral trade. the second is that among countries with similar levels of wealth, trade intensity is a decreasing function of distance. The paper tests the two hypotheses on a sample of 24 countries and accepts the hypotheses at least for highly developed industrial countries. |
