| Tiivistelmä: | There are many kinds of scenarios, those embracing society, and those limited to local centre. There is variation in subject, range, level and degree of details. It is examined why scenarios became popular, and what conditions make it worthwhile to look at the alternative of organizational settings for designation and implementation of scenario projects. Scenarios provide the organizations with a learning environment for strategy formation and for monitoring the outcomes of strategic planning. Scenarios are examined as part of policy-oriented futures research. Strong and weak points of scenarios in policy formation are explored and a number of conclusions are drawn. Innovations with regard to solutions will continue. |
