| Tiivistelmä: | This article focuses on foreign direct investment (hereafter as: FDI) and equity foreign portfolio investment (hereafter as: EFPI) and their impact on economic growth. The data is collected from 80 countries from 1979 through 1998. The key results are that lagged FDI and EFPI do not have direct positive effects on growth but some data indicate that effects of FDI and EFPI may depend on the absorptive capacity of host countries, especially considering financial or institutional development. |
